  55. Name That State for Windows is a geography program 
  56. intended for use by middle grade school students. However it is useful 
  57. for anyone wanting to learn the geography of the United States. It is 
  58. programmed to run with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, and Windows 
  59. 95. It may reside on a floppy disk or hard drive.

  64. Name That State for Windows (NTS) is a geography program 
  65. intended for use by middle grade school students. However it is useful 
  66. for anyone wanting to learn the geography of the United States. It is 
  67. programmed to run with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, and Windows 
  68. 95. It may reside on a floppy disk or hard drive.

  70. With NTS you can learn, then test your knowledge about the United 
  71. States and its capitals. You'll find out when each state came into the 
  72. union, its' nickname and why it's called that. The program is 
  73. completely 'menu driven' and has six (6) modes of operation:
  74.  
  75. 1) Study states - The states are displayed in a random order showing the 
  76.     state capital, date in union, state nickname and how the nickname 
  77.     came to be, and a piece of trivia about the state.
  78.  
  79. 2) Test on states - A state is highlighted on the US map, and displayed 
  80.     on an inset. The user is then asked to select which state this is from 
  81.     four choices. The states are displayed randomly as are the multiple 
  82.     choice. This state can be put back in the shuffle if desired. If the 
  83.     answer is correct, the state is removed from the shuffle and painted 
  84.     on the US map. A right/wrong score is then displayed. If the 
  85.     answer is wrong, the state is removed from shuffle and saved for 
  86.     review after all 50 states have been presented. In either case the data 
  87.     on each state is displayed when the answer is given (ie: capital, date
  88.     in union, etc...).

  90. 3) Test on capitals - This is the same as 'Test on states' mode except the 
  91.     multiple choice is of four (4) different cities.

  93. 4) Show states - A state name is given and the user selects that state 
  94.     from the U.S. Map. A mouse is required for this mode.
  95.  
  96. 5) Show capitals - A state capital is given and the user selects the state 
  97.     with that capital from the U.S. Map. A mouse is required for this 
  98.     mode.

  100. 6) Review - This mode is entered automatically if any answer was 
  101.     incorrect. A review of all missed states or capitals is presented.
